Brooklyn Bridge

I finally walked the Brooklyn Bridge! It’s a really fun leisure activity but also great for a work out! Just beware of the speeding bikers!

Speaking of bikes, I feel inclined to mention by dismay with cyclist behavior! I thought the CitiBike ramps all around the city were fun and NYC was being cute like Europe, but I have come to feel very differently. People on bikes from these liesure bike share riders to delievery people ride however they want! Recently,I was unfortunately ran into by someone on a Citibike. It was in Herald Square and I was among a large group crossing the street on the pedistrian cross light. I have no idea why this would be the time to turn into the populated street! All I hear is ‘watchout’ about half a second before I turn and the biker runs into my leg. I don’t know what issue he was having with his brakes. My leg hurt so bad all day lol. I can’t even begin to describe how many times I have had to leap out of the way of a speeding cyclist when its pedestrian right to cross. So I looked into it and turns out cyclist are supposed to adhere to vehicle road laws. I cannot NYC… I cannot.  Not one person does this lol.  The regulations from Department of transportation reads:

  • Bicyclists must obey all traffic lights and signs, and must signal for turns whether driving on a roadway, a bike lane or bike path. Likewise, motorists must obey the rules of the road with respect to bicyclists, including yielding the right-of-way when the law requires it, just as they would to another vehicle.

Stay safe on these streets!
